The Music Zone Rehearsal Studios, located at 16th & Western in Chicago, is one of the largest professional rehearsal facilities in the Midwest. We occupy over sixty thousand square feet of space that includes ninety five rehearsal rooms.

Rooms are rented on a month-to-month basis – which means the room is yours! Why pay for hourly rehearsal, when you can leave your gear in your room, and come and go as you please?

We offer a variety of different size rooms, at the most affordable rates in town. Rates range from $300 to $1,500 per month, depending on the size of the room.TMZ opened its doors in July of 1996 with only nine rehearsal rooms. Since then we’ve grown into one of the largest musical communities in Chicago.

TMZ was started by two musicians who needed a new place to rehearse due to their gear being stolen from where they were practicing at the time. Knowing that there was an enormous demand for secure, professional rehearsal space, they opened TMZ determined to provide the services that they, as musicians, would want to receive themselves. This philosophy has earned TMZ the reputation of being THE place to rehearse in the Chicago land area.

We know that when it comes to professionalism, security, cleanliness and great rehearsal rooms, we’re #1. That’s why our motto has always been “GO CHECK OUT EVERYONE ELSE FIRST, THEN COME SEE US!”

If your band is looking for a place to hang out and have parties – DON’T BOTHER CALLING US. The entire facility is monitored from off-site. You won’t last a month here. If you’re looking to get some serious work done and rehearse at a professional facility, TMZ is the place for you!

  • WE USE THE “BEST LOCK” SYSTEM. WHEN A BAND MOVES OUT, WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO CHANGE THE CORE LOCK IN THE KNOB AND DEADBOLT, SO NO ONE HAS EVER HAD KEYS TO YOUR ROOM BEFORE YOU!

To move in, you must sign a month-to-month rental agreement (you can leave at any time, for any reason), pay a one month security deposit, a $10 per set of keys deposit, and the first month’s rent (rent will be pro-rated for the month if you move in on any other day than the 1st of the month).

YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD TO REHEARSE AT TMZ.

TMZ is a WORK ONLY space. We do not permit tenants to reside/sleep at the facility.
